Daughters

As the birth of my third daughter approaches I often find myself worrying about the future. Like the old saying goes "if you have a son you only have to worry about one dick, if you have a daughter you have to worry about all of them".

I am caught in a dilemma though. A big part of me wants to protect them forever and invest in multiple acres of unused land to bury the bodies of the potential boyfriends.
But the other part of me wants to be the cool Dad that the boyfriends like. Thus is my dilemma.

I've tried to weigh the pros and cons of each. I figure by putting them in writing it'll help me make the decision.

Bad Guy Pros:

Girls don't have boyfriends
My shooting gets better (it's all about practice)
Stay fit with all the digging
Contribute to the Aussie economy by being a rate payer

Bad Guy Cons:

Potential jail time
Girls could resent me

Good Guy Pros:

Could build a healthy father/son type relationship
Girls will be happy
Will know all about the guy should he hurt one of my girls, thus enabling Dexter like punishment and use of Bad Guy skills
I could become like my hero Phil Dunphy

Good Guy Cons:

I don't get much chance to shoot
Don't have a need to buy bulk lots of land
Girls could resent me

So as you can see this isn't a cut and dried decision. There are good bad points for both. I think I need to just play it by ear. If the guy is a douche I'll bury him but if he is a decent kid I'll befriend him. Odds are I won't think too many are decent kids anyway.

Two things are certain though, I will use the line "whatever you do to my daughter I will do to you" and I will have motion sensing cctv installed around my house.

I'll leave you all with this final thought. Police body scanners only go to 16 feet, so always dig to 18 ;-)
