Game Review

Ok. Well, one of my oldest and best friends, Pidgeo, has kindly donated a bunch of games to me courtesy of his 'new' role at EA.

The only thing that he asked for his generosity? A blog/review of the games.

So here we are.

There are two games in particular that I have become a massive fan of. The type of games that I had never really played before. Mostly I am a sports gamer. I'm the quick fix kinda guy. Instant gratification and all that. But these games got me hooked!

Without further ado, here is the first game:

Dragon Age 2

I'd never been into the role playing games at all. The cut scenes bored me. Character development and improvement was monotonous and static. And limited interactions made it seem pointless, and maybe even worthless as an option within the games.

But not in this game!

Right from the very beginning, you are controlling a group, using their skills and talents to work through the intro story that is told by one of the other main characters. Instantly you have choices to make. These choices begin to determine your personality and the path that your character will take to complete the adventure.

The above trailer/walkthrough should give you some idea.

But lets get into the ratings.

Gameplay: Easy as. If me, the button masher can do it, anyone can. 8.5/10
Story line: Epic! Had me involved the whole way. Even the side stories were great. 9/10
Graphics: Easily some of the best I have seen! Some of the cut scenes would qualify for movies! 9/10
Overall: 9/10

My only issue with the game was that it was still a bit buggy in a couple of spots. If you killed someone and took their loot before the fight was over, occassionaly you would miss picking up a key etc. And if you hadn't done frequent saves, you would have to play whole sections of the game all over again. But I loved it. I played it through twice before moving on to any other games.

And the next blog will be about:

Mass Effect 2

Until then kids!
